Job Description + Company Overview

FOCUS Training is looking for highly motivated students to join our Leadership Trainer Intern team. FOCUS delivers high-energy, in-person leadership and college readiness programs to students across the U.S. Interns will do a combination of virtual and in-person work, dependent on CDC health and safety guidelines. Interns will travel with experienced trainers to facilitate interactive programs for middle and high school students. They will learn to lead a team, develop and deliver educational workshops effectively, and polish their public speaking skills. As a leadership development company, FOCUS Training uses experiential learning techniques, dynamic trainers, and deep content to deliver exceptional leadership development experiences.

Job Overview

• End of May through end of July commitment

• Facilitate interactive leadership programs for 6th - 12th-grade student groups ranging in size from 10 to 200+ participants

• Utilize Zoom and various virtual learning platforms to work remotely with FOCUS staff and student participants when necessary

• Travel domestically for program facilitation if/when needed; travel-associated costs to be paid for by FOCUS Training

• Interact with clients and students in a professional manner

• Assist in developing content and creating interactive leadership activities

Requirements

• Junior status or higher from a regionally accredited college or university

• 2.8 GPA or higher 

• Must be available to travel between end of May through the end of July 2023 (including some weekends) when assigned

• Demonstrated leadership experience

• Previous public speaking or facilitation experience preferred but not required

• Must have access to computer with working webcam and reliable internet access

• Must be able to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination for company travel
